Virtualize the NOC

· Technology

The sudden shift to remote work caused by the global pandemic has forced IT Ops pros to quickly adjust in multiple ways to maintain the uptime and stability of critical digital services.

Amidst this crisis, AIOps has emerged as a lifeline, as it facilitates remote collaboration, streamlines incident management, and accelerates detection and resolution.

This is the topic Moogsoft EMEA CTO and global AIOps expert Will Cappelli discussed during his webinar “Virtualize the NOC: Accelerate Your Transition to Remote IT Ops with AIOps.”

“I’ll share how the pandemic is affecting our digital infrastructure, and moving us towards a situation where our NOCs will have to be virtualized to function effectively,” Cappelli said.

Having been forced to vacate their offices and on-premises NOCs, IT Ops pros must figure out how to still effectively communicate and collaborate while working from home.

Plus, traffic and usage patterns on their IT infrastructures have changed, as staff, partners, and customers all connect from dispersed endpoints, requiring architectures to be adapted.

Moreover, due to illness and layoffs, IT ops staff sizes will fluctuate. Given this uncertainty, it’s become even more important for IT Ops teams to automate processes, according to Cappelli.
